How it all began…

During time spent in Indonesia, I became fascinated by the untapped design potential offered by Indonesian fabrics. Bold, dramatic, naturally occurring and synthetic colours and dyes, applied with masterly textile printing techniques passed down through generations, using a repertoire of delicate, subtle hand blocked batik motifs in a sublimely wide colour spectrum provided an exciting and commercially attractive design palette.

I was captivated by the wonderful, unique fabrics and stunning designs that featured so predominantly in the Indonesian textile industry. I knew instinctively that life was telling me I needed to gain a greater understanding of fabrics, garment and product design and commercial clothing production.

And so it was that I began exploring the many possibilities and applications that the world of textiles and homewares offered.
